The Secret Agents Secret
As the old saying goes “Time Flies”. Ten years ago we started this company as one of the few microbrands available. The market for microbrand watches grew rapidly due to increases in luxury brand prices. We started this company to meet the needs of our warfighters overseas, as the owner of Hager was one of them. Ten years later Hager is still meeting those needs. The world of Hager is filled with stories of three letter agencies, USMIL provenance and excellence. Engineered for quiet professionals, for those that are serious watch collectors or those who are just beginning, our watches are a choice for many. Our success is not the result of one person, or slick ads with movie stars, but of our many customers. This is the story of Hager.
In 2009 we released our version of the classic 5517, affectionately named Military Submersible “Milsub” by collectors, long considered a holy-grail by watch enthusiasts and collectors alike. You can read our original 2011 post about the history of the Hager Commando “Milsub” here. The watch was simple, affordable and durable. However, as a company we wanted to increase our production quality and in 2012 we were one of the first companies to offer a lumed ceramic insert bezel in a dive watch at a sub $1000 price which was unheard of at the time. Only two other companies, Blancpain and Tudor, offered lumed ceramic bezels during that same year. However, our customers still wanted the original Commando Milsub. For ten years we received emails regarding the recreation of this classic watch that had reached near cult-like status. On our 10th anniversary we are happy to announce that the Hager Commando “Milsub” is back in it’s original 40mm size, with the original “pointed crown guards”, lumed ceramic insert, a sapphire caseback with the “Combined Arms Insignia” to show it’s heritage. It represents the symbiosis between unlimited performance and a thoroughly seductive design at an affordable price even by today’s standards.
Never say no to adventures. Always say yes! Otherwise you will lead a very dull life. ~Ian Fleming
